Let’s Talk about Resolutions

We hereby resolve to…
by Debra H Goldstein, Nancy J Cohen, Lois Winston, Cheryl Hollon, Diane A.S Stuckart, and Maggie Toussaint

I’ve given up resolving to do things like exercise, lose weight, or be a kinder person; so, my resolutions for 2021 (beyond hugging family and friends again) are 1) embrace my tendency to procrastinate and 2) admit I am a curmudgeon so I can overtly enjoy every moment of it.   Debra H. Goldstein

My resolution is to get back to work and write another mystery. Nancy J. Cohen

My resolution is to try to stress less about everything, whether big or small, especially those things out of my control. Lois Winston

My resolutions for 2021: Live lighter in resources and lighter in pounds. Cheryl Hollon

Writing resolutions: To move forward with self-publishing my trio of Cat Fantasy short stories which have not been written yet but which already have fabulous covers. Personal resolutions: To hiss less and purr more! Diane A.S. Stuckart

My 2021 resolutions carry over the themes from 2020: survive and lead a balanced life. In addition, I resolve to keep writing, to spend time with family and friends, and to focus on wellness for mind, body, and soul. Maggie Toussaint

We’d love for you to share your resolutions in the comments section!

And, while you’re here, our monthly contest is open from January 1-18. Entry in the contest opens on Jan. 1. CONTEST LINK

  1. My New Year’s goal is to read more, worry less, cook lots, and to take a creative writing class. Happy New Year to you all, may 2021 hold happy days for us all!

    1. Those are great goals, Tracy. If there’s anything this pandemic has taught me, it is to seek a balanced life, where work and play and health and family are all valued. Happy New Year to you!

  2. My New Year’s resolutions is not to make any. Actually I make goals for myself.
By the way, your contest link doesn’t work. It gives a 404 error. Link must be broken or something wrong with link. Please look into this issue and fix it. Want to enter contest.
    Please enter me.
    Happy New Year.

    1. Crystal, The contest opens tomorrow on Jan 1. I hope you’ll return to enter then. Goals are a commitment, same as resolutions. I like to make goals too, and I do that all year long.

  3. My goal is to start writing a book in 2021 and have part of written in by Dec. 31, 2021 if I’m lucky all of it. I write for fun and love it just like reading.

  4. I’ve spent a good deal of this last year crocheting afghans for our neighbors for Christmas. Now that I’m done I need to get back to my piles of unread books. I also enjoy writing for fun but I’m really enjoying my current work and might see if it’s publishable. So my goal this year is to at least finish it and start getting feedback, to decide if I’d like to pursue it.

    1. Alicia, it sounds like you’ve been superbusy with all that crocheting! I’m sure your neighbors were pleased with their toasty afghans. It is a good time to rejuvenate and enjoy something for you. Like you, I enjoy reading and writing. Just started a new book last night!
