Characters on the Bench
- Terry Ambrose:
Alex Atwood from the Seaside Cove Bed & Breakfast Mystery series says, “She’s not technically a cartoon character, who wouldn’t want to be Moana? She’s fearless, adventurous, and sails across the ocean with a sassy demigod and a hilariously clueless chicken by her side. Moana doesn’t just dream big—she does big, proving that you don’t need a crown or a prince to be a hero. Plus, she gets to hang out on a tropical island, sing epic songs, and save her people while rocking the coolest outfit ever. Being Moana means embracing your inner wayfinder and showing the world that nothing can stop you—not even a giant, shiny crab!”
- Nancy J. Cohen:
Marla says, “I’ll be Minnie Mouse. She isn’t afraid to speak up and be assertive.”
- Debra H. Goldstein:
There’s always so much going on in terms of highs and lows between my job at the law office, dealing with my mother, reacting to whatever is happening at the restaurant, and solving murders, that I think I would swap places, because I can handle all aspects they cover, with the Seven Dwarfs.
- Cheryl Hollon:
Hi y’all, Miranda Trent here. What a fun question—had me laughing out loud! If I could trade places with any cartoon character, hands down, I’d pick Wonder Woman. I’ve always admired Diana—fierce, fearless, and standing tall for truth, justice, and equality. She’s an Amazon warrior from Greek legend, a protector of humanity with a moral compass that never wavers. I may not have a golden lasso or bulletproof bracelets, but I try to live by those same values. Starting a new life back in Kentucky—running my cultural adventure business, Paint & Shine—has brought plenty of challenges. Sometimes it feels like I’m juggling two worlds: my old life in the city and my roots here in the hollers. But like Wonder Woman, I believe in leading by example and doing the right thing, even when it’s not easy. Besides, she looks great on horseback—and I’ve been known to ride a trail or two myself.
- Maggie Toussaint:
Tabby Quigsly, amateur sleuth of A Magic Candle Shop Mystery series, would love to be Wonder Woman. She thinks with her energy manipulating skills, she would be a natural fit for that character. Plus, the things WW stands for are pretty cool: commitment to justice, peace and equality, and depiction of strength, fairness and compassion.
- Lois Winston:
Anastasia Pollack, reluctant amateur sleuth of the Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mysteries, would most likely choose Helen Parr aka Mrs. Incredible aka Elastigirl for her feistiness, as well as her super-cool superpower.
I love the Moana answer! Sounds great to me ❤️😁❤️
It would be Wilma from the Flintstones.😃
I would like to be Minnie Mouse. She has been a favorite character of mine since seeing her in Disneyland. She’s so cute and always happy.
