Amnesia and Cleopatra Jones
By Maggie Toussaint

In my new cozy mystery novella, “No Quarter.” Cleopatra Jones wakes up in a distant hospital with no memory of how she got there, no memory of what she did that day. She is frightened and alone. A man arrives who claims to be related, and hard on his heels a cop follows.

Handling any of these factors (amnesia, a stranger, and a policeman) would be challenging, but dealing with all three at once gives us an idea of the plucky strength in my amateur sleuth. Cleo has faced trouble before, and she’s not about to let amnesia slow her down.

“No Quarter” is out now in the Sleuthing Women II anthology. To win the first book in the series, a hardcover format of In For A Penny, enter the Rafflecopter contest. Winner must have a US postal address.

    1. Thanks, Terry! It’s nice to have a “straight” cozy back in circulation. Though folks have really glommed onto my Dreamwalker series, I still get requests for more Cleo books. I’m glad to give them what they want!

  1. I read an advance copy of this novella and really enjoyed it. How frightening not to remember your past or what acts you might have committed. You’re right, Cleo is persistent, and she won’t let a lack of memory stop her from uncovering the truth.
