Let's Talk with Debra H. Goldstein

Let’s Really Talk

Today, January 15, is MLK Day (Martin Luther King Day). There will be prayer breakfasts and other formal observances in most cities, as well as heavy media coverage. I, too, could devote my blog post to this holiday, but as a writer, I know there are more topics to possibly address than the obvious one. For example, in terms of holidays, today is also nationally dedicated as both Bagel Day and Hat Day. Because it still is January, I could write a post on making New Year’s resolutions and either keeping them or not.

The topics mentioned above are only a few that I could dedicate this Let’s Talk post to, but being a writer, I know there are many more things I can write about. One of them is simply the title of this regular posting – “Let’s Talk.” Each week, a different Booklover’s Bench member writes a Let’s Talk post. No two are the same. Personally, I’ve addressed writing, ice cream trucks, dreams, and schemes. My co-Benchies have been equally varied in their posts.

Today, what I’d like to do with you is simple – Let’s Talk. What is it that you like to read about? What is it that you’d like to know from any of us? What tickles your fancy? What makes you follow Booklover’s Bench? What attracts you to blogs in general or any topic for that matter?

Leave an answer in the comments to the questions I’ve posed for a chance to win a print copy of the new Desert Sleuths short story anthology: SoWest: Danger Awaits! (U.S. only because of postage costs).

  1. I enjoy reading blog posts because of the interesting topics that authors discuss. They are thought provoking, often relevant to issues facing today’s society faces and I learned important things when I read them. I also enjoy reading other readers comments. Thank you for the chance.

  2. I like the posts on the different topics from the different authors. They are always interesting. And, of course, I always like the chance to win something!

  3. What attracts me to this blog is that I love reading or listening on audiobook to this group of authors’ books. It is fun to interact with them.

  4. Though I am also an author here, I am a prolific reader. I enjoy reading about influences authors have when crafting a book, about research rabbit holes, about hands-on research vs online research, and so much more. AT some point in time, AI might put all of us story makers out of business, and there will be no one to tell of how it used to be done…
