Making a Fresh Start

January 5, 2023

Greetings of the New Year! The beginning of a year means different things to different people. You might resolve to do better in your personal relationships or to aim for that promotion at work you’ve always wanted. Or perhaps you’ll make time for the new project that’s been sitting in your drawer. If you’re a believer in New Year’s resolutions, you might even write down a list of things you mean to accomplish.

This year, I’m about to launch STAR TANGLED MURDER, #18 in the Bad Hair Day series. It’s always exciting to prepare for a new book release. This title is available on NetGalley if you’re a member. Or if you have a book blog, I have review copies to offer. The release date is March 14, 2023. I’ll tell you more about this story when March rolls around. Meanwhile, I’m setting up appearances including an upcoming cover reveal so watch my website for dates.

This brings us back to New Year’s resolutions. One of my goals for this year is to put all my earlier romances into revised print editions. I’ve already done this with SILVER SERENADE. Only seven more titles to go. Please remember to review our books after you read them. Reviews are critically important to us in attracting new readers.

Also, I want to work on another mystery that’s been on the back burner. It could be the start to a new series or a standalone. Either way, I’d like to make it viable and send it out into the world. You don’t know until you try, right?

What’s on your list of things to do this year?

While you’re here, click over to enter our January book giveaway which runs through January 18. We have seven titles in our giveaway vault. The winner gets to select their book from the vault. It’s win-win all around. Click HERE for the contest.

    1. Dreams are important and can lead to goals. My first published book started as an actual dream. But you’re right. You have to work to make your dreams a reality.

  1. Good luck on the new book, Nancy. You’re right, new book launches are always filled with excitement—hopes and dreams and big aspirations. May all of those come true!

  2. Congratulations on Star Tangled Murder. Love the title! Not too many people water ski around here anymore, so I don’t know if if that sport has fallen out of fashion everywhere. I mention it because at one time, way back in kidlet years, I was a water skier, sort of. Anyway, it was fun to ski out even with the boat or even to try to stay on the cusp of the wake, but if you had to cross the wake for any reason, look out! The chop was always more in there. The reason for sharing that is that all of 2022 felt like I was caught in the chop of a wake. For 2023 I’d like to stay out of the wake altogether. I’m ready for some calmer, slicker waters!

    1. I think we’d all like calmer waters for this year. These seem to be turbulent times for everyone. Sometimes, the best we can do is to keep our heads up over the waves.
