Authors on the Bench

- Terry Ambrose:
Sue Grafton, for sure. I met her once at a conference in Santa Barbara, and she was a delight. Ernest Hemmingway would be on the list. And then, there’s Carl Hiassen. I think it would be a lively party!
- Nancy J. Cohen:
Agatha Christie, Charles Dickens, and Jules Verne. I could learn lots from each of them.
- Debra H. Goldstein:
Because of something I am interested in writing, I would host two dinners. I would invite Marjorie K. Osterman (Damned if You Do, Damned if You Don’t), Herman Wouk (The Caine Mutiny and Marjorie Morningstar), and Cynthia Freeman (Portraits) to the first dinner. The second dinner’s guests would be Margaret Maron, Carolyn Hart, and Diane Mott Davidson.
- Cheryl Hollon:
Louise Penny, Richard Osman, and Ann Cleeves. I can only imagine the conversation as equal parts wit, intrigue, and perhaps a spirited debate over the perfect crime.
- Maggie Toussaint:
I’d invite Jeffrey Deaver, Charles Todd, and Carolyn Haines to a Low Country Boil followed by Key Lime Pie. I’ve met them and/or worked with each of them on various MWA chapter projects or anthologies. They are each wonderful and yet unique people in their own way and never has our conversation/emails lagged in the past. I’m still grateful that they want to talk and hang out with little ole me.
- C.B. Wilson:
Agatha Christy, (I mean, who wouldn’t want to have dinner with her?) Clive Cussler (My husband and I are avid scuba divers and Dirk Pitt’s my hero), Elizabeth Peters.
- Lois Winston:
William Shakespeare (I’d love to know what he’d think of my sleuth’s Shakespeare-quoting parrot), Tina Fey (hoping she’d option my Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery series because I think she’d be perfect as Anastasia), and Agatha Christie (because how could I not include her?)

Rhys Bowen, Dianne Freeman and Piers Anthony two writers who write Historical Cozy Mysteries and a Fantasy Author what a tale they would spin. Deborah
I have so many favorites I don’t know who I’d pick! But one of them would have to be Clive Cussler. Because of his books and because he lived in the same city I grew up in!
