What makes you happy?
  • Terry Ambrose:

A walk along the ocean shore or on a forest trail. An evening watching a good movie with my wife, Kathy. And, oh, let’s not forget a good night’s sleep because that sets me up for a great and happy day!

  • Nancy J. Cohen:

Being with my children and grandchildren. Going to lunch with friends. And I love to relax on a cruise. I also like quiet time each evening watching a movie on TV, often on the Hallmark channel. But as long as I’m healthy and my kids are well, that’s all that matters.

  • Debra H. Goldstein:

Taking the time to realize how much I have to be thankful for — family, friends, and health. There have been days when things could be overwhelming, but then I remember how lucky I am …. and that makes me happy.

  • Cheryl Hollon:

I enjoy meeting cozy mystery readers who are devoted, passionate, sometimes delightfully obsessed book lovers. It absolutely fills my heart. Whether it’s at a bookstore signing, a mystery conference, or a local festival, their enthusiasm reminds me why I write.

  • Maggie Toussaint:

I love to help my family and close friends. I also put a lot of value of sleeping at home in my own bed. Nature makes me smile, as long as it isn’t the stuff on my allergy list. Oh, the same for dogs and cats.

  • Lois Winston:

Depends on the day but usually, it’s the little things—spending time with my grandchildren, a good writing day, going to the theater, even a good night’s sleep (not always a given!)

There you have it! From pleasant walks to family and friends, and some good old-fashioned time to write, our authors have a lot of things that make them happy. What are the things that make you happy?

  1. Going out to dinner with my husband. Reading a book (my cats help with this). Doing jigsaw puzzles. Gardening when the weather is nice.
