On The Bench

Characters on the Bench

What items do you display on your shelves at home?
  • Terry Ambrose:

Alexandra Atwood here, my family photos are some of my favorites, but I’m also keeping a bag of dog treats on the shelf for my new pal, Shadow. And, let me tell you, because Shadow’s so big, he goes through a LOT of dog treats.

  • Nancy J. Cohen:

Marla Vail says: I have a collection of flamingos, since they symbolize Florida to me. Cookbooks. An array of flashlights for power outages. And family photos. We don’t like a lot of clutter in our house. It’s bad enough with toys scattered all around.

  • Debra H. Goldstein:

Sarah Blair: Before my divorce, the rat and I showcased Lladro and Hummel figurines we’d collected, but because the only thing I got out of the divorce was RahRah, my Siamese cat, I never got into having anything on any of my shelves except books. I love to read.

  • Cheryl Hollon:

Miranda Trent: My grandfather built my bookcase long before I was born, and it still creaks like it’s holding onto secrets. It’s packed with vintage textbooks, weathered almanacs, well-thumbed dictionaries, and classic novels, each one with a story of its own.

  • Maggie Toussaint:

Tabby Quigsly of the Magic Candle Shop Mysteries: I am quite fond of the dragon statuettes that I purchased from one of our shop vendors. These little sculptures are heavy enough that my cat Harley can’t knock them over. We also have some of my candles round and about for mood lighting.

  • C.B. Wilson:

Taylor “Hunter”: Shelves? I need a home first. I’m working on. Right now, Glimmer and I are busy traveling the world hunting Diamond thieves.

  • Lois Winston:

Anastasia Pollack:  Family snapshots, lots of books, and some of Zack’s award-winning photography (but they’re mostly hanging on the walls.)

What is your favorite thing to display on your shelves?
