On The Bench

Characters on the Bench

Which destination would you choose for your next adventure: a Caribbean cruise, a trip to Europe, or a trip to your favorite city?
  • Terry Ambrose:

Alex here, from the Seaside Cove Bed & Breakfast Mystery series. I’d go with the trip to Europe. All that cool old history would be pretty awesome to visit. I think I’d also love all the different kinds of dessert…French pastries, Swiss chocolate, yum!

  • Nancy J. Cohen:

Marla Vail from the Bad Hair Day Mysteries: Definitely a cruise. Its the ultimate relaxation. I want to chill out when Im on vacation, not rush around at a frenetic pace trying to see all the sights. Its wonderful not having to cook and do dishes, and to have no decisions except for what to eat.

  • Debra H. Goldstein:

Emily Blair: Although my twin, Sarah, would book us a trip going anywhere, as a professional chef, Id love to take a gourmet trip to Europe and sample as much interesting food as I could.

  • Cheryl Hollon:

Miranda Trent: Europe, without question. I’d happily lose myself in the echoing halls of the Louvre in Paris, wander the labyrinth of the British Museum in London, and marvel at the treasures tucked inside the Vatican Museums. Art, history… and just enough mystery to keep things interesting.

  • Maggie Toussaint:

Tabby Quigsly of the Magic Candle Shop Mysteries: As an “energetic” psychic with a natural energy reservoir under her home, I do not travel nationally or internationally. If I don’t recharge fully each night I am in danger of trying to survive on very little energy. That’s what happened to my mom. She tried to help a friend with cancer and gave away so much energy that not even sleeping in her own bed bought her another day. That’s one life lesson I will never forget.

  • C.B. Wilson:

Hunter from the Gem Hunters series: I spend so much time chasing diamond thieves around the world that my favorite destination is home. Give me my ranch, my horse, and Glimmer any day.

  • Lois Winston:

Anastasia Pollack: Trip to Europe. There are still many countries I’d like to visit. There just better not be any dead bodies involved.

What would you pick?

    1. We are actually going to Greenland, Newfoundland, and Halifax via a cruise. We still are planning on a trip to Brittany, France but that one we will need to review and see which is the best way to get there to enjoy it.

  1. I would like a trip to Europe since I’ve never been there. We had a trip to Cost Rica planned last summer but that didn’t work out. Maybe next year!

  2. I have taken one cruise to Alaska and was not overwhelmed. I have been to England and France, and it was great. We have been to Costa Rica (got robbed at gunpoint by two guys on a bicycle of our camera and big lens in broad daylight in a park on Easter Sunday) and all through Mexico (as we lived thirty miles from the Texas/Mexico border growing up). My favorite trip was two weeks in Peru on the Amazon by myself (though I met with a group in Miami, but I knew no one) and seeing Macchu Picchu. But travel is so much work. Flying is a pain. I would just love to go to one of my favorite cities and chill and eat great food–NOLA, Savannah, or San Francisco before it was ruined, pre-1998.
