On The Bench

Characters on the Bench

If you had an extra hour each day, how would you spend it?
  • Terry Ambrose:

Alex here, from the Seaside Cove Bed & Breakfast Mystery series. I’d totally spend it playing fetch with my new BFF Shadow. The thing is, Shadow is a Newfoundland, and he loves playing fetch and just goofing around. He might weigh over a hundred pounds, but he’s like the world’s biggest lapdog, so you have to keep him busy to avoid getting crushed!

  • Nancy J. Cohen:

Marla Vail from the Bad Hair Day Mysteries: I’d meet a friend for coffee. I don’t pay as much attention to my friends as I should. Once you have kids, your time isn’t your own, at least not until they’re in school. Even then, there’s so much to do, plus I still work at the salon several days a week. It would be nice to have an hour just to hang out and exchange news with a good friend.

  • Debra H. Goldstein:

Sarah Blair: Sleeping. Because there is always a crisis, somebody needs something, or I’m sneaking around at odd hours sleuthing, there’s never enough time for me to get enough sleep.

  • Cheryl Hollon:

Miranda Trent: Wandering the wooded trails of the Daniel Boone National Forest with my puppy, Sandy. The forest has a way of calming the mind… though every now and then, the rustle of leaves makes you wonder who—or what—might be watching.

  • Maggie Toussaint:

Bob Mancini of the Art Studio Mysteries: I’ve already learned a harsh life lesson from my wife’s murder. Life is short. Spend every spare minute and even some un-spared minutes with the ones you love. You’ll never get that time back if you bank it for later. No deals to close, no laundry list to tasks that need doing. Make new memories with those you love. It’s my new motto and I’ll keep doing it ‘til my grave.

  • C.B. Wilson:

Hunter from the Gem Hunters Mysteries: I’d saddle my horse and head for the trails. There’s never enough time in the day to chase the wind.

  • Lois Winston:

Anastasia Pollack:  Probably sleeping. With all the mayhem my author Lois Winston has dumped on me, not to mention the constant stream of dead bodies, I can’t remember the last time I got eight hours of uninterrupted sleep.

What would you do if you had an extra hour all to yourself?
