Characters on the Bench

Which do you prefer - the beach or the mountains?
There you have it. Our characters (and their authors) have weighed in. What's your preference? Let us know if the comments below.

Alexandra Atwood says, “It’s totally the beach. I mean, we live in a beach town here is Seaside Cove and I love it! We have to drive through some small mountains to get to here, but they’re not nearly as much fun as being near the water.”
Marla Vail says: “Definitely, I prefer the beach. I like the tropics and looking at the ocean. Warm weather is necessary to my well-being, as are palm trees and sea breezes. Mountains are nice to visit but I wouldn’t want to be landlocked that way or needing to drive on curvy mountain roads.”
Sarah Blair: The beach is my happy place. Even if I am indoors, if I can at least watch the waves breaking on the shore, I feel peaceful and creative (but don’t worry, I never get an urge to cook!).
Miranda Trent from the Paint & Shine Mysteries: “As much as I love the peaceful beauty of my home in eastern Kentucky, I sometimes long for the rhythmic hush of ocean waves. The beach calls to me because it feels like a world away from my mountain life.”
Tabby Quigsly of A Magic Candle Shop Mystery series: “I definitely prefer the beach. The sun, wind, and wave energy soothe my soul and recharge my spirit. Sitting on the shore with my fingers and toes in the sand is where I feel I am my truest self. My twin sister feels the same way about the beach, even though as fraternal twins we have a lot of differences. In this we agree. Beach over mountains, any time, all the time.
Anastasia Pollack: “Like my author, I’m a Jersey girl. We love going down the shore (it’s not called “the beach” in New Jersey!)”
