It’s that time of year again, where many of us look at our lives and decide to make a change or two. We hope our thoughts on the subject will inspire you. Our overall resolution, of course, is to be actively thankful for our followers and readers!

Debra H Goldstein: As 2024 brought many changes into my life, my resolution for 2025 is to simply get a better grasp on the new me in terms of time allocation and making meaningful my interactions with others.

Cheryl Hollon: In 2025, I want to establish a more focused balance between family and writing time. I need outings to refill my creative well, but this year, I want to expand that with travel trips with my husband. While we’re both still fit, I plan to take several trips to foreign lands – some familiar to us, like London, England, and Edinburgh, Scotland. Some new places like Montreal, Canada, and perhaps a trip to Iceland or Norway. I think we’ll both benefit from leaving the familiar behind and embracing the wonders of slow travel.

Lois Winston: I stopped making resolutions years ago because I usually broke them within the first few weeks. In my defense, I doubt I’m alone. Does anyone ever keep New Year’s resolutions? However, since I’m tasked with coming up with a resolution for today’s blog post, my resolution for the year will be not to sweat the small stuff. Or at least try. We’ll see how long I last.

Nancy J Cohen: In 2025, I hope to submit my finished manuscript to my new editor and complete needed revisions; write a Bad Hair Day holiday novella, and initiate an audiobook version of my writing guide, Writing the Cozy Mystery. I also have to get back to book marketing, something I’ve neglected this year due to significant life changes. On the personal front, I need to sell off or donate items in the house to clear space and rearrange rooms. That’ll be an ongoing project amid grandparenting and hopefully more cruises.

Maggie Toussaint: Life is full of changes, and 2025 marks the end of a major decade for me. Therefore, I want to make sure I’m spending time on things that matter to me. I’m usually a list-maker and goal-setter person, but I resolve to have more flexibility of schedule in 2025. Family and writing will still be my priorities, but I plan to carefully evaluate my other roles. Anything that is stressful will be lined out!

Diane AS Stuckart: After being sidelined for most of 2024 with health issues, my 2025 resolution is to get caught up on paperwork, both writing and household. Right now, my documents are in piles in two different rooms, so this will be a project. On the bright side, I’ve long since bought my bankers boxes and organizers, so I’m ready to go. And, as always, I must finish my current book in process! I’m at least two books behind on my personal schedule so I’m going to have to knuckle down and hit the keyboard next year.

Terry Ambrose: Terry Ambrose: 2024 was a tough year for me. Health issues threw me way behind on almost everything. Still, I’m looking forward to positive changes next year. For my part, my goals include getting back into a regular physical exercise routine, being able to keep more control over my writing schedule, and fitting in a couple of small road trips. All in all, I’m looking forward to a healthy and productive New Year!

As we step into 2025, we hope the meaningful changes and goals we’ve set for ourselves – from achieving work-life balance to reigniting creative passions and tackling long-overdue projects — will help inspire you. It’s a reminder that every resolution, big or small, holds the potential for growth and renewal. We’re endlessly grateful for your support and the vibrant community we’ve built together.

Now, we’d love to hear from you! What are your resolutions for 2025? Share your goals and aspirations in the comments below, and let’s kick off this New Year with positivity and purpose!

  1. My goal is to be better about setting goals 😁 For a long time now, I have not actually set goals for myself that I could verbalize and track. In 2025, I plan to improve on that.
I wish all the best to each of you and I hope achieving your resolutions and goals is a smooth and enjoyable process for every one of you!

  2. Good morning, I know I need to drink my water so I need to do that. I also need to get rid of alot of things that are just sitting there doing nothing , so in other words I need to do some decluttering. May You all have a Very Happy and Blessed New Year.

  3. Oh, as always, I have so many things (goals) that I would like to accomplish. Like Lois has said, I can’t keep up with my resolution, so I have also stopped making resolutions. Instead, I will set myself some small goals that seem achievable. Such as, I will set my reading challenge (I don’t think I am going to achieve this year’s goal) to a number that I can make it; spend more time on self-care, and to slow down my pace in whatever I am doing – be steady and accomplishable.

  4. My goal for the new year is to make through ankle surgery on January 22 and finally be able to walk with my walker.
